Every production of a song varies in complexity depending on the style and track count. If your music requires multiple services in addition to recording plus mixing and mastering we can potentially offer a package rate. We agree in the contract on the specific rates and the work that we are required to do. Our studio does not include mixing and mastering unless specified in the contract. The general rates are listed below.
- Recording – $90 per hour, with a 3 hour minimum
For recording only, the musician will be provided with raw audio recordings (stems). This will include all of the music with no edits. - Mixing – Starting at $75 per song
Mixing prices will vary depending on the complexity of the song, the track count and the turn around time required. Mixing involves editing and modifying the audio stems to an agreed upon degree. Mixing includes balancing the sound levels, the EQ and the compression. The mixing process prepares the song for mastering. - Mastering – $100 per song
Mastering prices are normally fixed at $100 per song. Mastering is the “finishing process”. Mastering the music prepares the songs to be ready for CD production and for release on Spotify, Youtube, Itunes, etc.
SVS Payment Schedule
A standard recording contract will be signed and dated by Sky Valley Studios and the client. This contract will need to be signed at least 48 hours prior to the recording session. A 50% deposit is required at the contract signing in order to secure studio bookings. The cancellation period is 24 hours prior to the booking. If the cancellation is not made within this timeframe the deposit is non-refundable. New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax (8,4375%) Full payment is due at the time the contracted services are completed.
