Steinway Piano
The Steinway Grand Model B is the centerpiece of the studio. At 7 feet in length, it is regarded as one of the finest pianos. It is in immaculate condition and this 1968 model is completely rebuilt including: soundboard, bridge cap, pin stock, hammers and has been action regulated. It is kept in tune and always ready for the best pianists to record.
Vintage Sonor Drum Set
This is a Sonor Drumset that is early 1970 that I have owned for 50 years. It was made in West Germany and is solid oak (not laminated). The set has a Craviato maple snare drum and dw pedal for high hat and a double bass drum dw pedal.
Drummers are welcome to use the studio drumset or bring their own. Also, drummers could use the Sonor kit and bring their own cymbals. The cymbals on the set include:
- 21 inch Sabian hand crafted ride
- 18 inch zildjian crash/ride
- 20 inch zildjian Constandanoble concert crash
- 13 inch zildjian z/k high hat
The drums are set up with a mic on each drum as follows:
- Bass Drum: shure beta 52 A
- Snare, High Hat, Small Tom, and Timbale: shure sm 57
- Floor Tom: beta 57 A
- Cymbals: two overhead shure ksm 81
